Introduction to scientific manuscript writing is a virtual workshop organized by the Post Graduate Department, Faculty of Pharmacy UiTM. This workshop was held on 15 Jun 2021 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. A total of 81 participants have participated in this workshop.

This interactive workshop covered the principles and strategies to plan, write, edit, submit, and publish impactful scientific papers. The workshop focused on the organization of a scientific research paper, designing tables and figures, and writing a clear concise abstract and cover letter for submission to a science journal.

The speaker for this workshop was Prof Dr Ahmad Nazrun Shuid from Faculty of Medicine UiTM. The workshop was divided into parts such as: Introduction to Manuscript Writing, Important Skills of Scientific Writing, Enhancing Different Parts of the Paper, Common Errors, Tips on Publishing in High Impact Journals, and Identifying Predator Journals.

At the end of the workshop, participants were able write a rough draft of a scientific paper that focused on the two hardest sections to write—introduction and discussion, understand the publishing process including the reasons to rejection or acceptance of manuscripts and discuss responses to reviewers’ comments effectively.
