On 26th May 2022, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia organized a hybrid event titled "Scientific Research Writing Workshop". The event was conducted online via the Cisco Webex Meeting platform, as well as through physical sessions at the Gallery, Level 5, FF1, Faculty of Pharmacy UiTM, from 10 am to 4.30 pm. The morning session started with Prof Datin Dr Sharida Fakurazi from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia, who shared her valuable knowledge and experiences on the roles and responsibilities of postgraduate trainee and trainer, specifically in writing a research manuscript.
The workshop continued in the afternoon with interactive sessions and tips from Prof Dr Kalavathy Ramasamy, Faculty of Pharmacy UiTM, on writing a narrative review manuscript. She also highlighted the process of selecting a suitable journal for manuscript submission, the publication procedure and how to respond to reviewers' comments. The workshop attracted 63 participants from academicians and postgraduate students of Faculty of Pharmacy UiTM, as well as other institutions, including Duta Bangsa University of Surakarta, UCSI University, Pakistan Safety Council and Universiti Sains Malaysia. The organizers hope this workshop could guide researchers in writing good-quality manuscripts and publish them in Scopus/WoS/ERA/MyCite indexed journals.
