5th WORKSHOP ON LABORATORY RABBIT CARE AND USE 2022: The 5th Workshop on Laboratory Rabbit Care and Use was organized by Laboratory Animal Facility and Management (LAFAM), Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM Puncak Alam. A total of 10 participants from UiTM (Faculty of Medicine), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Industrial Biotechnology Research Centre (IBRC), SIRIM Berhad, Monash University Malaysia, (UMS) and private veterinary clinic joined in this workshop. This workshop, which is held every year, aims to raise awareness of the value of handling and using lab rabbits in research while also teaching participants how to perform procedures on them such as restraint, medical examination, bleeding techniques, anaesthetic, and euthanasia. This serves as a manual for participants on how to apply animal ethics and handle animals after the programme. Well-known professionals in the fields of rodent husbandry, management, behaviour, medicine, surgery, and post mortem lead this programme, which combined lectures with practical exercises.
