UiTM’s Faculty of Pharmacy continues to foster creativity and innovation

The Faculty of Pharmacy Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) organized an award-giving ceremony for the Virtual Pharmacy Invention, Innovation and Design (Pharm-IIDEx) 2022 on the 10th of August 2022. This is the third consecutive year that the event was held virtually, and the ceremony was officiated Professor Dato’ Dr Abu Bakar Abdul Majeed, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM. This year, the theme “Dream. Create. Inspire” provided a platform for researchers to present novel ideas, innovation and technologies intended to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of social health in the health and well-being fields.

The program received a favourable response with a total of 45 entries from the local and international institutions, including Universitas Duta Bangsa, Indonesia, Shri Vishnu College of Pharmacy India, Jamia Hamdard University India and Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Saudi Arabia. Pharm-IIDEx was especially pleased to see the tremendous potential for creativity and innovation among young researchers, in which we received a good number of entries from the primary and secondary schools around Malaysia. The participation of institutions at various levels shows that the spirit of research and discovery remains strong, and ideas, inventions continue to thrive in all places despite challenging times brought on by the post COVID-19 conditions.   

The Virtual Pharm-IIDEx 2022 was a great success, with three teams receiving the diamond award. It is hoped that the accomplishments of this programme would inspire talented researchers to continue striving for research excellence. The Faculty of Pharmacy UiTM wish to congratulate all the winners and participants.
