The Laboratory Animal Facility and Management (LAFAM), Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM Puncak Alam, Selangor, Malaysia has organized the 8th Special Course for Undergraduates on Laboratory Rodents (Rats and Mice) Care and Use 2021 on 15 December 2021, with the participation of 9 students who were working on their final year projects. This annual course was conducted to highlight the importance of care and use of laboratory rodents in research and to provide training on how to conduct procedures on laboratory rodents such as restraining, oral gavage, bleeding techniques, anesthesia, and euthanasia. Besides, students were also introduced to the guidelines of animal ethics applications which should be obtained before starting their research projects. This course was conducted with blended lectures and hands-on practicals by well-known experts in the fields of rodent husbandry, management, behavior, medicine, surgery, and post-mortem.
