The 14th Workshop on Laboratory Rodents (Rats and Mice) Care and Use 2021 was organised by the Laboratory Animal Facility and Management (LAFAM), Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM Puncak Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The workshop was held in two sessions, the first online session on 29 – 30 July 2021 and the second hands-on session on 17 November 2021. A total of 20 researchers from the various faculties of UiTM, including the Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Applied Science, Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology, Institute of Pathology, Laboratory and Forensic Medicine, as well as the International Medical University (IMU) and Sunway University participated in this workshop. This annual workshop was conducted to highlight the importance of care and use of laboratory rodents in research and to provide training on how to conduct procedures on laboratory rodents such as restraining, oral gavage, bleeding techniques, anesthesia, and euthanasia. Besides, it was also conducted to prepare the participants with the guidelines for animal ethics applications.
