A Guide to HPLC Method Validation: Take Your Analysis to the Next Level

Analytical Unit Faculty of Pharmacy UiTM has organized a two-hour Webinar entitled A Guide to HPLC Method Validation: Taking Your Analysis to the Next Level on 20th July 2023.  The webinar was attended by various groups of participants, including both local and international attendees comprised of postgraduate students, academicians and also researchers.

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is a fundamental technique in the field of analytical chemistry, playing a crucial role in industries such as pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, environmental sciences, and more. This webinar aimed to shed light on the principles, techniques, and best practices of method validation, enabling attendees to elevate their analytical capabilities and ensure compliance with the standards. The importance of aligning method validation procedures with international standards was emphasized, ensuring accuracy, reproducibility, and compliance. The session commenced with an overview of the importance of method validation in HPLC analysis followed by the second segment, which delved into the key parameters involved in method validation, including accuracy, precision, specificity, linearity and robustness. The content also highlighted the various validation protocols and regulatory guidelines provided by organizations such as the FDA, ICH, and USP to guide participants in aligning their validation procedures with internationally recognized standards. A brief practical demonstration allows the attendees to follow the step-by-step process of method validation, enhancing their ability to replicate the procedure in their own laboratories. The webinar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, during which participants sought clarification on specific topics and interacted with the speakers.

To conclude, the webinar not only provided a guide to HPLC method validation that can be directly applied to their work but also underlined its crucial role in enabling analysts to ensure compliance with standards requirements.
