Deaf Awareness and Sign Language Talk is a program organized by the Bureau of Sports Society of Pharmacy Students 20/21 (SOPHYS) in collaboration with Malaysian Federation of The Deaf (MFD). This programmed was held on 16th June 2021 for about 1 hour 45 minutes starting from 2.00 pm until 3.45 pm and opened for all pharmacy students, lecturers and community of Puncak Alam.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this program was held virtually through the online platforms such as Google Meet and Youtube live streaming. Deaf Awareness and Sign Language Talk 2021 aimed to provide knowledge on awareness about the deaf community in Malaysia and the use of sign language in different careers, especially in the pharmacy field.

In this programmed, the talk was delivered by Encik Mohamad Sazali Sha’ari using sign language and translated by Cik Wan Zuraidah and Cik Goh Soo Leng. During this programmed, participants were taught about a few basic sign language such as greetings, thank you and other clinical sign language. Along the programmed, questions form was provided for the participants to be answered by the speaker at the end of the programmed.  In overall, this programmed received an overwhelming and positive responses from the participants. CPD points are also provided for each pharmacy students who participate in this programmed.
